Sara Poce

Biomedical Engineer · PhD Candidate

AI-based patent analysis & management in life sciences

About Me

I am a PhD Candidate in Tecnologie e Innovazione nella Medicina at the Università degli Studi del Molise. My research focuses on building AI-based tools for patent analysis, management, classification, and retrieval in the life sciences domain.

My current research focuses on the usage of XAI (explainable AI) techniques for the patent classification task, making the model’s decision process more interpretable, and building user trust.

I hold a MSc and BSc in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. I also worked as a Guided Surgery Specialist Intern, supporting 3D workflows for implant-prosthetic planning and surgical guides.
